Effective Presentations - FAQ's
Is Effective Presentations
Skills right for me if I have never given a formal presentation before?
Definitely. In the Effective Presentations workshop you develop an
actual presentation, from scratch. You choose the topic. We will show
you how to determine the presentation's focus and its content. We'll
also show you how to design visual aids for it and deliver it in a
confident professional manner. You don't have to worry about being
less experienced than someone else in the group. You get one-on-one
feedback from the facilitator in a separate viewing room.
Should I attend
Effective Presentations if I have already had training in presentation
skills?
Absolutely. Effective Presentations will give you an opportunity to
fine tune your design and delivery of presentation regardless of your
level of experience. The workshop provides individualized coaching
and feedback that is geared to your level of expertise, from beginner
to seasoned professional. By the end of the workshop you will definitely
see measurable in yourself. We guarantee it.
Can Effective Presentations
make boring content interesting?
You bet it can. Effective Presentations starts by teaching you how
to zero in on the content that is important to the audience. Then
it shows you how to communicate in a way that the audience can relate
to and enjoy. You also learn how to ensure your visuals are designed
with impact and clarity so that they engage the audience.

Can a shy person ever be a good presenter?
Of course. In no way does being shy preclude you from being a strong
presenter. In Effective Presentations we bring out all the hidden
presentation talents you didn't know existed. You are never asked
to assume a fake presentation personality. Instead you learn how to
allow the real you come out during the presentation. You will see
for yourself that you look composed professional and confident.
Does being a good
presenter mean that I have to memorize my presentation?
No, just the opposite. In Effective Presentations you will learn how
to use an invisible template to structure your presentation's content
and you learn how to design your visual aids as crib notes. These
techniques make it easy for you to deliver a presentation without
memorizing the content or juggling annoying notes.
Does Effective Presentation Skills teach me
how to use PowerPoint?
In the Effective Presentation Skills workshop you will learn how to
design visual aids using PowerPoint. As such, you should have at least
a basic knowledge of PowerPoint. We do not teach Powerpoint per se.
However, we do provide some helpful tips on how to get more out of
Powerpoint.
